"Venterom"
In this personal photography project I explore the experience of isolation and waiting after I broke my ankle.
After my injury, I suddenly felt cut off from the world and my usual daily habits were turned upside down. "Venterom" became a way for me to document my journey and give me something new to focus on.
Through a series of intimate and candid photographs, I take you on a journey through the ups and downs of my recovery. Each image is like a page from my personal diary, revealing the challenges and frustrations I faced as I waited for my cast to come off and for life to return to normal.
In this series, I show my new daily routines, which revolve around staying in bed and taking medicine. But through my lens, these seemingly mundane moments become poignant and significant. I capture the loneliness and isolation of being confined to my room, but also the moments of hope and joy that come with each small step towards recovery. "Venterom" reminds us that even in the darkest of times, we can find beauty and meaning in the everyday moments of our lives.
